Interested in volunteering with HOBY? Below are just some of the opportunities we have available.

Staff

Facilitators (must be 21 or older)

Facilitators will lead a team of Ambassadors throughout the seminar. Some of the skills sought by Facilitators include being able to work within a predetermined schedule, the willingness to follow rules and guidelines, and a desire to serve as a respected role model for high school students.

Although the Seminar may be only a few short days, the influence Facilitators may have on these students will be long term. Few Ambassadors have participated in such a rewarding weekend and the HOBY Virginia Seminar will be an unforgettable experience for all of them. The impact on their lives and their futures will be great. Facilitators will play a tremendous role in creating a positive HOBY experience.

The members of Team Alumni (TA) will serve as co-Facilitators or will assist Directors during the Seminar.  TAs selected as co-Facilitators will assist Facilitators with leading a team of Ambassadors throughout the seminar.  TAs selected to assist Directors will work closely with their Director leading up to, throughout, and after the seminar.  Team Alumni members must be alumni of a HOBY program.
