DONOR INFORMATION

The Virginia Leadership Seminar Corporate Board is engaged in fund raising year-round. Our costs have been kept at $175 per student, which includes food, lodging and other related expenses. Our funding comes from several different sources: our cooperating organizations, corporate donors and individuals. There are no paid staff members or speakers.

HOBY-Virginia receives no federal or state funding. The Virginia Leadership Seminar, Inc., is classified as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization and therefore, your donation is tax-deductible. Your contribution could allow students to participate in the annual seminar, giving them an opportunity to explore and discover their leadership skills so that they may better serve our community.

Other possible ways in which your contribution might be used:

  • To assist in the development of a second Virginia seminar, where the students may not normally have this sort of opportunity
  • To cover part or all of the cost for one night of boarding for our Ambassadors
  • To cover the cost of meals
  • To assist in the production of a college fair at the seminar
  • To cover the costs associated with a seminar-related field trip
  • To help with the costs of developing and maintaining our website
  • There are countless other ways a donation might be used -- these are just examples!

Hopefully, you will recognize how critical your role is in helping our youth discover the untapped potential they hold. Join us in giving today’s youth what they need -- faith in themselves, self-esteem and a belief that they have the ability to lead us into tomorrow!
